Dead alligator found in Kansas lake

Here is a picture of the dead alligator. This photo is from

File this one under “News of the Weird.”

The Wichita Eagle‘s Michael Pearce runs a blog, Kansas Outdoors, and Thursday he posted quite an interesting piece.

On Wednesday a 64-inch-long, dead alligator was found in the Coffey County Lake, which is near the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant north of Burlington.

According to the article, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks don’t know how the gator ended up in the lake.

I don’t either, and now next time I visit a Kansas lake I will think twice about noodling. I don’t want to catch an alligator.
